Welcome to the GeneACT server. GeneACT
is comprised of a series of bioinformatic tools that
are designed to specifically characterize the regulatory
regions of the genes of interest. The regulation of
gene transcription is very important for understanding
signal transduction networks.
News:
GeneACT update
9/11/06 Added 8bp seed MicroRNA sequence (Lewis BP et al. Cell 2005) for visualization
of microRNAs in PBSS.
1/13/06 Added MicroRNA
function for DBSS. GeneACT is under construction and
still being tested. Feedback, bugs and general comments/questions
should be sent to Tom.Cheung@colorado.edu.

Potential Binding Site Search
is a tool that allows the user to search for binding
sites (user input or using the transcription factor
database, TFD) in many genes in a high throughput way.
Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG) viewer is provided for
a better visualization of the gene structure in a transcription
factors orientated way. To utilize
the full function of promoter browser using SVG, PBSS
should be used on windows platforms. more... |

Genomic Sequence Retrieval is a tool that allows
the user to retrieve genomic sequence. At present, only
Homo sapiens, Mus musculus and Rattus
norvegicus genomes are supported. more... |

Differential Binding Site Search
is a tool that allows the user to compare the frequencies
of the binding sites that are found in two sets of genes
(named regulated and control gene set hereafter). This
tool is intended for users who have done some microarray
experiments and would like to know what kind of binding
sites (user input, TF binding sites or MicroRNA target
sites) are enriched in their regulated gene set. more... |

TFD Search allows the user to
query our database for binding site sequence or transcription
factor name of interest. TFD, the Transcription Factor
Database, consists of >7000 binding sites from the
literatures. In order to keep the database current,
we also provide interface for binding site submission.
The new binding sites will be curated and enter into
the database for use by other tools. |
